Ontario Securities Commission Announces New Commissioner Appointments

Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) Chair and CEO Maureen Jensen announced today the following appointments to the Commission. These Commissioners will each serve a two-year term.

Fair Trading In Wholesale Energy Markets: In 2017 ACER Processed More Than 90 Million Transactions

ACER stepped up its monitoring activities in 2017 by implementing an automatic screening process for transactions of energy products traded on European wholesale markets. For this purpose, the Agency developed and calibrated specific alerts to detect instances of unusual trading behaviour in electricity and gas. Last year, more than 90 million transactions for a variety of spot and derivative products were reported to the Agency.
