Statement By The Brexit Steering Group On UK Paper On EU Citizens In The UK

Responding to the release of the UK’s policy paper “EU Settlement Scheme statement of intent” policy paper, which describes how EU citizens and their families can obtain settled status in the UK, Guy Verhofstadt, the European Parliament’s Brexit Coordinator, today issued a statement on behalf of its Brexit Steering Group:
“While we have taken note and welcomed the UK Government’s statement of intent outlining how the UK’s EU Settlement Scheme will work, we still have a number of outstanding concerns. We ask the UK Government to take these on board during the consultation and testing phase of the Scheme before its official launch.”

ETFGI Reports Currency Hedged ETFs And ETPs Listed Globally Gathered Net Inflows Of US$3.13 Billion During May 2018

According to ETFGI’s May 2018 Currency Hedged ETF and ETP industry insights report, a monthly report included in an annual paid-for research subscription service, currency hedged ETFs/ETPs listed globally gathered US$3.13 billion in net inflows during May. This was over 10 times the net inflows gathered during April. (All dollar values in USD unless otherwise noted.)

EBA Assesses Risks And Opportunities From Fintech And Its Impact On Incumbents Business Models

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today the first products of its FinTech Roadmap, namely (i) a thematic report on the impact of FinTech on incumbent credit institutions' business models and (ii) a thematic report on the prudential risks and opportunities arising for institutions from FinTech. Both reports fall under the wider context of the newly established EBA FinTech Knowledge Hub and aim to raise awareness within the supervisory community and the industry on potential prudential risks and opportunities from current and potential FinTech applications and understand the main trends that could impact incumbents' business models and pose potential challenges to their sustainability.

- Decrease of the value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book[1] on the GPW Main Market by 7.9% YoY to PLN 16.7 billion in June 2018
- Increase of the volume of trade in currency futures by 163.1% YoY to 267.6 thousand contracts in June 2018
- Increase of the total volume of trade in derivatives by 16.5% YoY to 896.1 thousand contracts in June 2018
- Increase of the value of issues of non-Treasury bonds listed on Catalyst by 29.7% YoY to PLN 80.1 billion
- Increase of the total volume of trade in electricity by 111.3% to 18.4 TWh in June 2018
- Increase of the total volume of transactions in gas by 6.7% YoY to 10 TWh in June 2018
- Increase of the volume of spot trade in property rights to certificates of origin[2] by 32.5% to 5.4 TWh in June 2018

PEGAS Trading Volumes In June 2018 - PEGAS Spot Volumes Improve By 25% On Year, Tracking Strong Increases On Most Hubs

PEGAS, the pan-European gas trading platform operated by Powernext, registered a total volume of 130.4 TWh in June 2018 (June 2017: 167.7 TWh). The overall spot volume increased by 25% over the previous year, following the upward trend on most PEGAS spot market areas.
