At the end of the settlement date of September 14, 2018, short interest in 2,369 Nasdaq Global Market^SM securities totaled 7,523,975,122 shares compared with 7,314,133,731 shares in 2,365 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of August 31, 2018. The mid-September short interest represents 4.47 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.80 days for the prior reporting period.
