Mohammed bin Rashid Enacts DIFC Regulatory Amendment Law

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, has enacted the Regulatory Law Amendment Law, DIFC Law No. (6) of 2018. The Law, which amends the Regulatory Law 2004, will come into force on 29 October 2018 and, together with changes to DFSA Anti-Money Laundering Rules, will make a number of important changes to the regulatory regime in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

When the double volume cap (DVC) was first enacted on 12th March it cut nearly half of dark turnover in Europe. After a 6-month mandatory break all of the suspended stocks have now been allowed to re-join the general population. Early evidence suggests that overall dark trading has now resumed at roughly pre-suspension levels.

EPEX SPOT Launches Two New Intraday Auctions In Great Britain, Both Coupled With The Irish Market

The European Power Exchange EPEX SPOT successfully launched two new Intraday auctions in Great Britain on 30 September (first trading day). Both auctions are coupled with the Integrated Single Electricity Market in Ireland, I-SEM, launched on 01 October as well. Clearing and settlement is conducted by European Commodity Clearing (ECC) which also includes the cross-border settlement between Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Ireland.

CFTC Commissioner Behnam Announces The Establishment Of New Subcommittee Of The Market Risk Advisory Committee And Seeks Nominations For Membership

Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC or Commission) Commissioner Rostin Behnam announced today that the Commission has voted to establish the Interest Rate Benchmark Reform Subcommittee (Subcommittee) under the CFTC’s Market Risk Advisory Committee (MRAC). Commissioner Behnam, sponsor of the MRAC, is seeking nominations for membership on the Subcommittee through a formal request in the Federal Register. The deadline for submissions is October 16, 2018.
