Dubai Financial Market: Trading Of Ajman Bank Rights Issue Between 10 And 24 October 2018

Dubai Financial Market (DFM) today announced that the rights issue of “Ajman Bank” is due to be tradable on the exchange between Wednesday, 10 and 24 October 2018. Trading of the rights issue enables existing shareholders of the bank who do not wish to subscribe to the new shares, which the bank plans to issue as part of its capital increase, to sell all or part of their rights to other investors who do wish to subscribe. The rights issue is a financial instrument representing the rights that are legally granted to the company's shareholders to have priority in subscribing for the company's capital increase shares that will be issued.

FIA September 2018 SEF Tracker

Total trading volume on SEFs averaged $629.4 billion in notional value per day during September 2018. That was up 22.3% percent from the previous month and up 10.8% from September 2017. The month-over-month increase in trading volume was driven mainly by a rise in on-SEF trading of interest rate swaps, which was up 18.9% from August 2018 and up 9.1% from September 2017.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding on Mutual Recognition of Funds (MoU), which will allow eligible Hong Kong public funds and United Kingdom retail funds to be distributed in each other’s market through a streamlined process.

Markets were muted during the third quarter with the FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index ending the quarter 0.1 per cent higher. The index remained in negative territory in September losing 1.7 per cent.
