Cboe Clear Europe Expands Its Clearing Services To Include Cryptocurrency-Backed Exchange-Traded Products (ETPs)

Cboe Clear Europe is pleased to announce the expansion of its clearing services to include cryptocurrency-backed exchange-traded products (ETPs), following recent regulatory approval. ETPs eligible for clearing will be required to meet specific criteria based on market capitalisation, and underlying asset availability and product types, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, XRP, and BNB. We will now work with venues that list these eligible products and look forward to sharing go-live dates in due course.

Westpac is to pay a penalty of $3.25 million for misleading customers entitled to advertised discounts as well as overcharging some of its business customers. Westpac admitted its conduct in civil proceedings brought by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) – Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko – at the High Court in Auckland in December 2024.

(Cboe: CBOE), the world's leading derivatives and securities exchange network, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed longtime global financial markets executive Craig S. Donohue as the company's new Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board, effective May 7, 2025. Mr. Donohue succeeds Fredric Tomczyk who, as previously announced, will step down as CEO and remain on the Board.

US Financial Associations Recommend Action To Remove Barriers To Digital Assets Innovation

A coalition of financial services trade associations urged the President’s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets to support efforts to remove barriers to financial institutions engaging in digital asset activities. The associations include the Bank Policy Institute, American Bankers Association, American Fintech Council, Americas Focus Committee of the Association of Global Custodians, Financial Services Forum, Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association and The Clearing House Association.

- Total consolidated revenue reached AED 186.5 million in Q1 2025, a growth of 26% year-on-year.
- Total traded value surged 61% year-on-year to AED 41 billion.
- DFM attracted 19,366 new investors, 86% of whom were foreign nationals.
- Institutional investors accounted for 72% of total trading value, with foreign investors contributing 53%.
