Euro Clearing In Frankfurt – An Update By Eurex Clearing Board Member Matthias Graulich

A lot has happened since my last post. To put the events in a nutshell: Clients have gained substantial confidence in the quality of euro clearing in Frankfurt. This is demonstrated by increasing volumes across all tenors, a market share of more than 14 percent in notional outstanding of EUR denominated OTC interest rate derivatives (IRD), and a growing demand on the buy side.

EEX Extends Emissions Auctions To Norway, Iceland And Liechtenstein

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) has revised the calendar for the 2019 auctions of EU allowances (EUA) and EU aviation allowances (EUAA) for the 25 EU Member States participating in the common auction platform (CAP2) to include the allowances of the EEA EFTA states, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

EBA Updates On Its Work In Response To The Commission's Call For Advice On Basel III Implementation

The European Banking Authority (EBA) is currently finalising its impact assessment on the implementation of Basel III, in response to the European Commission's call for advice it received on 4 May 2018. The findings of the assessment in the areas of credit risk, operational risk, output floor and securities financing transactions will be published in a report by the end of July 2019. The findings in the area of market risk and CVA will be published at a later stage, owing to the later completion of these parts of the Basel III framework.
