SEC Names David Bottom As Chief Information Officer

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) today announced that David Bottom has been appointed as the agency’s Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role, Mr. Bottom will be responsible for overseeing the security and overall functions of the agency’s information technology systems. He will officially join the agency in January 2020.

Federal Reserve Payments Study Finds Growth In Card And Automated Clearinghouse Payments

The growth of payments using debit and credit cards and the automated clearinghouse (ACH) system continued to accelerate from 2015 to 2018, while check payments continued their long-run decline, according to U.S. noncash payments data collected by the Federal Reserve.

EBA: Consultation Paper on draft RTS On Revised Identified Staff For Remuneration Purposes (EBA/CP/2019/16 )

The European Banking Authority (EBA) launched today a public consultation on its draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) on the criteria to identify all categories of staff whose professional activities have a material impact on the institutions’ risk profile (“risk takers”). The aim of these standards is to define and harmonise the criteria for the identification of such staff and to ensure a consistent approach across the EU. The suggested identification process is based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative criteria. The consultation runs until 19 February 2020.
