Statement On The Adoption Of Capital, Margin, And Segregation Requirements For Security-Based Swap Dealers And Major Security-Based Swap Participants, SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce, June 21, 2019

The Commission has adopted final rules governing the capital, margin, and segregation requirements applicable to security-based swap dealers (SBSDs) and major security-based swap participants under Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act.[1] Completion of this rulemaking represents a significant milestone in the Commission’s implementation of its regulatory framework for security-based swaps. I am grateful for Chairman Clayton’s leadership in moving forward on these rulemakings in a way that is both expeditious and prudent. He has facilitated dialogue both within the Commission and with our colleagues at the CFTC that has been frank and productive, and the results of that dialogue are, I think, clear in these final rules.

Christopher Giancarlo today offered his congratulations to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the adoption of final rules imposing capital and segregation requirements for security-based swap dealers and margin rules for uncleared security-based swap transactions.

SEC Adopts Capital, Margin, And Segregation Requirements For Security-Based Swap Dealers And Major Security-Based Swap Participants And Amends The Capital And Segregation Requirements For Broker-Dealers

The Securities and Exchange Commission took another significant step toward establishing the regulatory regime for security-based swap dealers today by adopting a package of rules and rule amendments under Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act. These and other rules previously adopted by the Commission are designed to enhance the risk mitigation practices of firms that stand at the center of our security-based swap market, thereby protecting their counterparties and reducing risk to the market as a whole.

ACER Adopts A Decision Relevant For Outage Coordination

ACER publishes today a decision – based on the EU Regulation on System Operation in electricity - on the methodology for assessing the relevance of assets for outage coordination. This methodology sets out harmonised rules for all synchronous areas and describes in particular the influence computation method. Find out more here.

Fastned (ticker symbol: FAST), the charging company building a European network of fast charging stations for fully electric vehicles, began trading today on Euronext Amsterdam. Based on the reference price of € 9.25 per depositary receipt, Fastned’s market capitalisation was approximately € 137 million on the day of listing.
