I welcome this opportunity to outline ASIC’s priorities, explain our strategic focus for 2020 and beyond and, where any misunderstandings exist, set the record straight. ASIC’s approach to enforcement after the Royal Commission is the title for this presentation and I promise not to disappoint you.

The Saudi Stock Exchange Announces The Publication Of The Monthly Stock Market Ownership And Trading Activity Report (By Nationality And Investor Type)

• The total value of shares traded for the month  ending 29 August 2019 amounted to SAR 78.72 billion, increasing by 20.82% over the previous month; while total stock market capitalization reached SAR 1,902.41 billion at the end of this period, decreasing by 7.53% over the previous month.
• The total value of shares purchased by “Saudi Investors” during this period amounted to SAR 35.88 billion representing 45.58% of total buying activity, and sales of SAR 48.78 billion representing 61.91% of total selling activity. Total ownership of “Saudi Investors” stood at 89.77% of total market capitalization as of 29 August 2019, representing a decrease of 0.44% from the previous month. 
• The total value of shares purchased by “GCC Investors” during this period amounted to SAR 0.65 billion representing 0.82% of total buying activity, and sales of SAR 1.85 billion representing 2.35% of total selling activity. Total ownership of “GCC Investors” stood at 1.90% of total market capitalization as of 29 August 2019, representing a decrease of 0.04% from the previous month.
• The total value of shares purchased by “Foreign Investors” during this period amounted to SAR 42.20 billion representing 53.60% of total buying activity, and sales of SAR 28.13 billion representing 35.73% of total selling activity. Total ownership of “Foreign Investors” stood at 8.33% of total market capitalization as of 29 August 2019, representing an increase of 0.47% from the previous month. 

Dubai Mercantile Exchange Auctions: November 2019 Oman Cargo Sold At Official Selling Price +$0.18

Oman’s Ministry of Oil and Gas (MOG) sold a cargo of Oman blend crude via DME Auctions, achieving a strong premium above the Official Selling Price (OSP) which reflects the current strength of the Middle East crude oil market, particularly in Oman.

DGCX Trades Over 3 Million Contracts In A Month For The First Time - Exchange Breaks All-Time Monthly Volumes Record For Second Consecutive Month

The Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX) in August traded over 3 million contracts in a month for the first time ever, smashing its previous record of 2.38 million contracts set in July. The 3.22 million lots traded and cleared in August were valued at USD 52.72 billion, also an all time record.

S&P Dow Jones Indices: Europe Dashboard

• British stocks weighed heavily on European equities in August, while sovereign bond yields hit new lows in several countries. 
• In a challenging month for risky assets, the S&P Europe 350® Utilities and Consumer Staples sectors benefited from a demand for more defensive exposures. 
• Switzerland was a bright spot: the region’s equities made the largest positive contribution to the S&P Europe 350, while the S&P Switzerland Sovereign Bond Index gained 4.4%.  

Royal Bank of Canada And Toronto-Dominion Bank Pay More Than $24 Million For Foreign Exchange Compliance Failings

The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) today approved settlement agreements with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) related to compliance failures in the banks’ foreign exchange (FX) trading businesses. These failures allowed RBC and TD FX traders to share confidential customer information in chatrooms with FX traders at competitor firms.
