1. Thank you, Tony, for the introduction, and for giving me the privilege to speak at today’s forum.

We are gathered here at an interesting time for the bond markets.  Ongoing global trade tensions continue to pose risks to the world economy.  However, even as global growth moderates, bond markets in emerging Asia are expanding. Shenzhen Stock Exchange Spokesperson Answers Questions From Reporters About 2019 Interim Reports Of Listed Companies

As of August 31, 2019, all of 2,178 companies (except *ST Changsheng) listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange (“SZSE”) had disclosed their interim reports. Overall, the companies listed on SZSE saw a continuous growth in operating income and stable operation in the first half of 2019 (H1). In addition, blue chip and strategic emerging industry companies maintained a sound development momentum, and the quality of listed companies continued to rise steadily. SZSE spokesperson answered the questions from reporters.  

HKEX To Launch Indian Rupee Currency Futures

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is pleased to announce it will launch Indian Rupee (INR) Currency Futures in the fourth quarter of this year.  These new contracts will further expand HKEX’s suite of derivatives products, providing additional risk management opportunities for customers worldwide.

Shenzhen Stock Exchange And China National Nuclear Corporation Sign A Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement

On August 30, Shenzhen Stock Exchange ("SZSE") and China National Nuclear Corporation ("CNNC") signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. This further deepens their exchanges and cooperation in giving play to the functions of the capital market platform, helping the reform of state-owned enterprises to improve quality and efficiency, and enhancing the ability of finance to serve the real economy. Wang Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of CPC SZSE Committee and President & CEO of SZSE, and Chen Shutang, CNNC Party Leadership Group Member and Chief Accountant, attended the signing ceremony. SZSE and CNNC also jointly held a five-day special training course on capital operation, focusing on topics such as corporate restructuring and listing, mergers and acquisitions, and information disclosure. More than 70 persons in charge from CNNC and its affiliated enterprises and public institutions participated in the training.

Shenzhen Stock Exchange Promulgates The Implementation Measures For Private Placement Convertible Bonds To Broaden The Scope Of Issuers And Promote The Development Of Private Enterprises

On August 30, under the guidance of the CSRC, Shenzhen Stock Exchange (“SZSE”), National Equities Exchange and Quotations Co., Ltd. (“NEEQ”) and China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation Limited (“CSDC”) formulated and issued the Implementation Measures for Convertible Corporate Bonds Issued by Unlisted Companies via Private Placement (the “Measures” for short), to further broaden the scope of entities issuing convertible corporate bonds via private placement. The Measures is an important move taken by SZSE to provide easy access to affordable financing for private enterprises, in accordance with the requirements of the Opinions on Strengthening Financial Services to Private Enterprises of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council. The Measures also broadens the financing channels and reduces financing costs for enterprises and provides investors with more exit channels, thus enhancing market appeal.
