  • CFTC Assumes Key Role On IOSCO Board Leadership

    On Tuesday, June 9, 2020, the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) announced the election and immediate appointment of CFTC Chairman Heath P. Tarbert as IOSCO Board Vice Chair for the term 2020-2022. Chairman Tarbert is the first CFTC Chairman to be elected to join the leadership of the IOSCO Board since the international standard setting body was established in 1983.

  • Bank Of England: Minutes Of The London FXJSC Operations Sub-Committee Meeting - 13 February 2020

    The Bank of England chairs the London Foreign Exchange Joint Standing Committee (FXJSC) Operations Sub-Committee. The FXJSC is made up of market participants, infrastructure providers and the UK financial regulators.

  • EBA Issues Revised List Of Validation Rules

    The European Banking Authority (EBA) issued today a revised list of validation rules in its Implementing Technical Standards (ITS) on supervisory reporting, highlighting those which have been deactivated either for incorrectness or for triggering IT problems. Competent Authorities throughout the EU are informed that data submitted in accordance with these ITS should not be formally validated against the set of deactivated rules.

  • UBS MTF Market Notice: Double Volume Cap Update

    Following the ESMA update published on 8 June, UBS MTF would like to inform you of upcoming double volume cap suspension changes this week:

    • Effective from the start of trading on 11 June 2020, the DVC suspension ends for 31 instruments on UBS MTF and therefore these instruments will again be available for trading under the Reference Price Waiver, and 
    • also effective from the start of trading on 11 June 2020, a six-month DVC suspension commences for 24 instrumentson UBS MTF, which means that they will not be available under the Reference Price Waiver during this period. These capped instruments remain available for trading under the Large in Scale Waiver as well as on our Periodic Auction Order Book, and an additional six-month DVC re-suspension, for six instruments, will also take effect at the same time.

  • CFTC Extends No-Action Relief To Market Participants In Response To COVID-19

    The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today announced it has extended through September 30, 2020, certain elements of the no-action relief issued in response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic that was set to expire on June 30, 2020. On March 17, 2020, the CFTC’s Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight (DSIO) and Division of Market Oversight (DMO) granted targeted, temporary relief to a broad spectrum of market participants to support orderly trading and liquidity as they implemented social distancing measures.
