General manager Agustín Carstens sits down to discuss central bank digital currencies and why there’s no “clear case” for an e-franc in Switzerland. On Libra, Carsten says it is a “provocative proposition” but that it still needs to build a better case to convince the BIS.

    The Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA), a global member association seeking to foster standardisation within the financial industry by upholding the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) principles and by promoting International Securities Identification Numbers (ISINs), Classification of Financial Instrument codes (CFIs), and Financial Instrument Short Names (FISN), for financial instruments, announced today that 16 National Numbering Agencies (NNAs) have now signed up to this voluntary initiative which maps new and legacy ISINs to their corresponding LEIs, a joint initiative ANNA is undertaking with the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF).

    When will the reclassification take place?

    On June 25th, 2019 MSCI announced the reclassification of the MSCI Kuwait Index to emerging market status. This reclassification was subject to two conditions targeted at international investors. The conditions were that omnibus account structures as well as National Investor Number (NIN) cross trades will be made available to international investors by the end of November 2019. Following this, MSCI will communicate its final decision by December 31st, 2019.

Upon approval by the China Securities Regulatory Commission, it is hereby released and shall come into force on the date of release.

    For the purpose of ensuring/expanding storage space at designated warehouses in the RSS3 Rubber market, the Exchange decided to expand the delivery region, in order to always enable deliveries at designated warehouses all over Japan. The related changes to the Market Rules, including the abolishment of the current special delivery system (i.e. the temporary expansion of delivery region to Aichi when there is a shortage of warehouse space due to tight supply and demand), were approved by the competent ministry today (November 29th, 2019).
