  • SEC Charges Cardinal Health With FCPA Violations

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Ohio-based pharmaceutical company Cardinal Health, Inc. has agreed to pay more than $8 million to resolve charges that it violated the books and records and internal accounting controls provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

  • BOX Exchange March Fee Change

    Effective March 2, 2020, BOX Exchange LLC (“BOX” or the “Exchange”) is amending Section V of the BOX Fee Schedule (Eligible Orders Routed to an Away Exchange). 1 The Exchange will charge a $0.85 per contract fee for all Non-Penny Pilot Classes for customer accounts. All Penny Pilot Classes will continue to be charged the current $0.60 per contract fee for customer accounts.

  • S&P Dow Jones Indices Europe Dashboard

    • The S&P Europe 350® struggled in the face of a broader global sell-off, as fears of the spread of coronavirus weighed on markets. 
    • U.K. equities continued to lag their European counterparts, returning all of their gains from the past 12 months after a deeply negative performance in February. 
    • Yields ticked down broadly, boosting most sovereign fixed income indices.  Italian sovereign bonds were a notable exception; the S&P Italy Sovereign Bond Index saw the largest decline amongst our selected European sovereign fixed income indices.

  • EBA Reviews Its RTS On Professional Indemnity Insurance For Mortgage Credit Intermediaries

    The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today a Report on the review of the Regulatory Technical Standard (RTS) specifying the minimum monetary amount of the professional indemnity insurance (PII) or comparable guarantee for mortgage credit intermediaries. The EBA assessed the information obtained from national authorities, from a sample of intermediaries and through desk-based research and concluded that no amendments to the RTS are currently required.

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced an award of more than $7 million to a whistleblower whose information and assistance were critically important to the success of an enforcement action.  The whistleblower provided extensive and sustained assistance, such as identifying witnesses.
