  • Shanghai Stock Exchange Holds Meetings To Mark 30th Anniversary

    On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) held the third session of the fifth Board of Governors and the third session of the third Board of Supervisors to solicit the opinions of governors and supervisors on the SSE's work in 2020 and arrangements for 2021. On the same day, a plenary meeting of the Policy Advisory Committee under the Board of Governors and forum for the 30th anniversary of the SSE was also held to review the growth over the past 30 years and look forward to the development of the capital market in the new era.

    Christopher J. Waller took the oath of office on Friday as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. The oath was administered remotely via videoconference by Chair Jerome H. Powell. Dr. Waller took the oath at his residence in St. Louis in the company of family and friends.

    The Federal Reserve Board announced on Friday it has voted to affirm the Countercyclical Capital Buffer (CCyB) at the current level of 0 percent. In making this determination, the Board followed the framework detailed in the Board's policy statement for setting the CCyB for private-sector credit exposures located in the United States.

  • Ontario Securities Commission Panel Approves Settlement With Bloomberg Trading Facility Limited And Bloomberg Trading Facility B.V.

    A Panel of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) today approved a settlement agreement with Bloomberg Trading Facility Limited (BTFL) and Bloomberg Trading Facility B.V. (BV), two foreign-based firms that operate multilateral trading facilities for fixed income securities and swaps. The settlement follows allegations by OSC Staff that the firms operated marketplaces without authorization in Ontario, filed applications for exemptive relief with the Commission containing incomplete and inaccurate information and, in the case of BTFL, failed to comply with terms and conditions set out in an exemptive relief order.
