Full Year And December 2024 Figures At Eurex

• The number of traded contracts at Eurex for the full year of 2024 increased by 9 percent to over 2 billion traded contracts, while December volumes remained nearly unchanged year-on-year. 
• Interest rate derivatives recorded the highest growth in 2024 with up 26 percent year-on-year followed by equity derivatives with up 16 percent. 
• OTC clearing volumes at Eurex continued their overall upward trend .

Overview

LME futures and options average daily volume (ADV) in 2024 reached 664,698 lots, up 18.2% on ADV in 2023 and reaching the fourth highest annual ADV on record.

LME Nickel has seen large increases in ADV over 2023 (up 58.8% y/y), with LME Tin also seeing significant growth (up 25.9% y/y). The LME’s ferrous contracts have also seen sustained volume increases, with Steel HCR FOB China (Argus) up 186.1% y/y and Steel Scrap CFR Turkey (Platts) up 48.4% y/y. 

Non-Jordanian Ownership In Companies Listed On The Amman Stock Exchange Reached 47.1%, Of Which 32.8% For Institutional Investors

Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) revealed that the value of shares bought by non-Jordanian investors at the ASE in December 2024 was JD13.1 million, representing 9.2% of the overall trading value, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JD43.6 million.

• The average daily turnover in December 2024 was $142.0 billion, an increase of 44 per cent from $98.6 billion for the same period last year.
• The average daily turnover in 2024 was $131.8 billion, an increase of 26 per cent when compared with $105.0 billion in 2023.
• The average daily turnover of CBBCs in 2024 was $6.6 billion, an increase of 8 per cent when compared with $6.1 billion in 2023.
• The average daily turnover of ETFs in 2024 was $16.0 billion, an increase of 36 per cent when compared with $11.8 billion in 2023.
• The average daily turnover of L&I Products in 2024 was $2.9 billion, an increase of 32 per cent when compared with $2.2 billion in 2023.
