The Financial Stability Board (FSB) Plenary met today in hybrid format, with some members attending in person in Basel and others attending virtually. Members discussed vulnerabilities in the global financial system, reviewed issues of particular relevance to Emerging Market and Developing Economies (EMDEs) and agreed the FSB’s work programme for 2022.

BIS: CPMI Calls For Comments On Payment System Operating Hours To Enhance Cross-Border Payments

- CPMI invites comments on a consultative report into extending and aligning payment system operating hours for cross-border payments.
- The report outlines three potential improvements: an incremental increase in opening hours on current operating days; an extension to current non-operating days; and an increase to full 24/7 provision.
- The CPMI seeks input from payment system operators, participants and other interested parties on the benefits and challenges presented by these three scenarios.

Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 17. During his visit, the Deputy Secretary met with senior government officials, including Minister of Energy, H.R.H. Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Minister of Finance, H.E. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Assistant Chief of State Security, H.E. Abdullah bin Abdulkarim bin Abdulaziz Al Issa, and Governor of the Public Investment Fund, H.E. Yasir bin Othman Al-Rumayyan.

ACER Publishes A Notice On Upcoming Opinions Related To Gas Interconnection Points Between Hungary And Austria And Between Slovenia And Austria

The EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) publishes today a notice on the decisions submitted to the Agency by the National Regulatory Authorities for Energy in Austria, Hungary and Slovenia. They relate to the review of the exemption from the obligation to enable bi-directional gas transmission capacity at the interconnection points: "Mosonmagyaróvár" (Hungary to Austria) and "Murfeld/Ceršak" (Slovenia to Austria). ACER will publish opinions on them by February 2022.
