EBA Consults On Technical Standards To Help Originator Institutions Determine The Exposure Value Of Synthetic Excess Spread In Securitisations

The European Banking Authority (EBA) launched today a public consultation on its draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) on the determination by originator institutions of the exposure value of synthetic excess spread (SES) in securitisations. The Capital Markets Recovery Package (CMRP) amended the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) in several aspects, including a preferential treatment for senior tranches of simple, transparent and standardised (STS) on-balance-sheet securitisations. It also introduced a provision on how to determine the exposure value of SES in synthetic securitisations. The proposals set out in this Consultation Paper will contribute to a more risk sensitive prudential framework in the area of synthetic securitisation. The consultation runs until 14 October 2022.

On 3 August 2022, BaFin prohibited Green Wave Materials Corp. with registered office in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada from offering shares of the company to the public. BaFin imposed the prohibition because the company had infringed Article 3(1) of the EU Prospectus Regulation. For this reason, Green Wave Materials Corp. may not offer the securities to the public in Germany.

Appital Secures Additional £1.7 Million Investment Led By Frontline Ventures - This Latest Funding Round Brings The Total Investment To Date To £4.85 Million

Appital, the Equity Capital Marketplace, today announced it has secured an additional £1.7 million investment from Frontline Ventures and various angel investors to bring technological innovation and automation to equity markets. The investment follows last year’s £2.5m round led by Frontline Ventures and additional funding from angel investors, bringing the total investment raised to date to £4.85m. This comes ahead of launching the world’s first algorithmic bookbuilding platform in partnership with Turquoise, the pan-European MTF, majority owned by London Stock Exchange Group.
