InterPrice Technologies, Inc., a treasury capital markets funding platform, announced today the closing of its Series A funding. The $7.3 million investment was co-led by Nasdaq Ventures and DRW Venture Capital, with participation from existing investors including Bowery Capital.

SEC Adopts Rules To Enhance Proxy Voting Disclosure By Registered Investment Funds And Require Disclosure Of “Say-On-Pay” Votes For Institutional Investment Managers - Rules And Form Amendments Will Enhance Transparency Of Fund And Institutional Investment Manager Proxy Voting Records

The Securities and Exchange Commission today adopted amendments to Form N-PX to enhance the information mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and certain other registered funds report about their proxy votes. The amendments will make these funds’ proxy voting records more usable and easier to analyze, improving investors’ ability to monitor how their funds vote and compare different funds’ voting records. The rulemaking will also newly require institutional investment managers to disclose how they voted on executive compensation, or so-called “say-on-pay” matters, which fulfills one of the remaining rulemaking mandates under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

IMF Managing Director Names Julie Kozack As Director Of Strategic Communications

Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), announced today her intention to appoint Julie Kozack as the IMF’s Director of Strategic Communications (COM). She will succeed Gerry Rice, whose retirement from the Fund was announced on July 22, 2022.

“The relationship between Bitcoin and stocks has been a theme often sighted this year, with Bitcoin being described as “just another risk asset” given its dramatic rise and fall in correlation to equities.This correlation is now breaking down. By mid-October Bitfinex Alpha saw the lowest correlation between Bitcoin and stock indices since the first week of January, reaching zero at one point, indicating no statistical association between the two assets. “

OCC October 2022 Total Volume Up 10.2% Year-Over-Year, Fifth Highest Month On Record

OCC, the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization, announced today that year-to-date average daily volume through October 2022 was 41.1 million contracts, up 5.6 percent compared to year-to-date average daily volume through October 2021. Total volume was 910.0 million contracts, up 10.2 percent compared to October 2021 and the fifth highest month in OCC’s history.

Western Hemisphere Regional Economic Outlook: Navigating Tighter Global Financial Conditions

- Growth momentum continues in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the region is expected to grow by 3.5 percent in 2022. Amid tightening global financial conditions, however, growth is projected to decelerate to 1.7 percent in 2023.
- Inflation is the highest in two-decades and is expected to recede gradually helped by decisive action by the region’s central banks.
- Monetary policy should stay the course, and avoid easing prematurely, while fiscal policy should focus on strengthening public finances while protecting the vulnerable population from the inflation shock.
