The FTX saga keeps entering new levels of strange. On Friday, both FTX and FTX US filed for bankruptcy, along with 134 related entities, highlighting just how tangled the exchange’s corporate web had become. Just a few hours later, the exchange suffered what now appears to be a massive hack, with more than $600mn siphoned from both FTX and FTX US wallets, instantly triggering rumors of an inside job.

Investors See The FTX Collapse As An Opportunity With Inflows Totalling US$42m - CoinShares: Fund Flows

• Digital asset investment products saw the largest inflows for 14 weeks totalling US$42m. The inflows began later in the week on the back of extreme price weakness prompted by the FTX/Alameda collapse.
• Bitcoin was the primary focus with inflows totalling US$19m, the largest since early August this year. However, short-bitcoin investment products also saw inflows totalling US$12.6m.
• Blockchain equities saw the largest weekly outflow since May 2022 totalling US$32m, implying that the more conservative investors in the asset class flew to safety.

EBA Publishes Final Technical Standards On The Measurement Of Liquidity Risks For Investment Firms

The European Banking Authority (EBA) today published its final Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) on specific liquidity measurement for investment firms under the Investment Firms Directive (IFD). These RTS will ensure that all competent authorities follow the same harmonised approach when adopting the decision to impose further liquidity requirements to an investment firm.

US Treasury Sanctions Global Russian Military Supply Chain, Kremlin-linked Networks, And Elites With Western Fortunes

Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), alongside the U.S. Department of State, sanctioned a transnational network procuring technology that supports the Russian military-industrial complex. OFAC also designated a global network of financial facilitators, enablers, and others associated with two key Kremlin-linked elites whose fortunes are intertwined with the West. In total, today’s actions designated 14 individuals and 28 entities, and identified eight aircraft as blocked property.
