  • Suspected Identity Theft Targeting TFI Markets Ltd, Cyprus: BaFin Investigates Purported Sale Of Shares In “Porsche AG”

    BaFin has become aware that a company operating under the name of “TFI Trade Limited” and allegedly domiciled in Cyprus is offering investors in Germany the opportunity to purchase shares in Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche Aktiengesellschaft (“Porsche AG”). In this context, alleged representatives of the company claim that TFI Trade Limited is a subsidiary of TFI Pcl. and that it holds a licence issued by the “Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission”. This claim is also made on the websites operated by the company, tfitrade.com and tfitrade24.com, where customers are offered further opportunities to trade in other financial instruments.

  • Hong Kong Securities And Futures Commission: Statement On Virtual Asset Arrangements Claiming To Offer Returns To Investors

    The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) wishes to remind investors of the risks associated with virtual asset (VA) platforms offering VA “deposits”, “savings”, “earnings” or “staking” services (VA Arrangements) to investors in Hong Kong in light of their continued prevalence despite previous investor warnings (Note 1) and recent events in the virtual asset industry. The SFC also takes this opportunity to remind the industry of the potential legal requirements when they offer VA Arrangements to investors in Hong Kong.

    • BNP Paribas announces the creation of Private Assets, a new business unit within its Investment and Protection Services (‘IPS’) division (including asset management, wealth management, insurance and real estate), aimed at becoming a leading European player in private asset management.
