SEC Staff is pleased to provide you with the following updates:

• Updated Metrics. Data series containing daily cancel-to-trade ratios, trade-order volumes, hidden rates, and odd-lot rate metrics for Q4 2022 are now available. This data extends to 132 total months the data series you can view in the data visualization tool as well as download in CSV format. The visualization for quote-life data now defaults to Q4 2022.

BIS: Does Money Growth Help Explain The Recent Inflation Surge?

Key takeaways

• The strength of the link between money growth and inflation depends on the inflation regime: it is one-to-one when inflation is high and virtually non-existent when it is low.
• A link can also be seen in the recent possible transition from a low- to a high-inflation regime. An upsurge in money growth preceded the inflation flare-up, and countries with stronger money growth saw markedly higher inflation.
• Looking at money growth would have helped to improve post-pandemic inflation forecasts, suggesting that its information value may have been neglected.

EBA Issues Opinion To The European Commission On The Draft European Sustainability Reporting Standards

ESMA Issues Its First Opinion On The Draft European Sustainability Reporting Standards

The European Securities and Markets Authority, the EU’s financial markets regulator and supervisor, has issued an opinion on the first set of draft European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS Set 1) developed by the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG). ESMA finds that ESRS Set 1 broadly meets the objective of being conducive to investor protection and of not undermining financial stability.
