LIFFE To Introduce Options On Swapnote® From 24 July 2001

The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE) today announced that it would introduce options on the Swapnote® futures product suite on 24 July in response to customer demand following the positive start to trading of the futures contracts.

KCBT Wheat Options Set New Single-Day Volume Record

Trading in the Kansas City Board of Trade wheat options contract set a new single-day record of 5,261 contracts on Tuesday, June 26, breaking the previous single day record of 4,322 contracts, which was set only two weeks ago on May 10.

CBOT: At 127,240 Fed Funds Open Interest Sets Another Record

Open interest in the Chicago Board of Trade's Fed Funds futures contract rose to a second straight new record at 127,240 contracts as of June 26, 2001, topping the high of 124,657 set on June 25. The records continue to reflect increased investor interest and absorption in the interest rate decisions from the Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee. In its meeting on June 27 the Committee lowered the Fed Funds Target Rate by 1/4 point.

The Central Bank Of Iceland Auctions Repurchase Agreements For 35.5 Billion Krónur

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on June 26 of the maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.9 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 35.5 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.
SWX: Temenos AG Opens At CHF 23

The shares of Temenos AG were traded today for the first time on the main board of the SWX Swiss Exchange. The offering price was set Monday night at CHF 23. At the start of trading on SWX, the stock stood at CHF 23, representing a total market capitalization for the company of CHF 1'189 million.
