President and COO Bob Fitzsimmons Appointed Acting CEO Of Nasdaq Liffe Markets - Warren Langley Departs As CEO

Nasdaq Liffe Markets (NqLX) today announced that Robert Fitzsimmons, President and Chief Operating Officer will assume the role of acting CEO. Warren Langley, previous CEO, has left Nasdaq Liffe Markets following an inability to agree on mutually acceptable contract terms.

Oslo Børs To Export Market Surveillance

Oslo Børs has signed a letter of intent that will create greater opportunities to make commercial use of the extensive expertise that Oslo Børs has developed in market surveillance. The letter of intent has been signed with SIA, the Italian ICT provider for the financial community, and gives SIA exclusive rights to sell the Oslo Børs market surveillance product known as obSurveX across a large part of southern Europe.

Legrand Deleted From Euronext 100 Index - Coflexip From Next 150 To Euronext 100

Following the official result of the takeover bid by Schneider Electric for the French company Legrand, Legrand will be deleted from the Euronext 100 index with effect from 13 August 2001, in accordance with rule 6.3.4 of the index ground rules. The new company will have a combined market capitalisation of 15.693 million Euro.

Euronext Paris Derivatives Markets: Seasonal Letup In Business Pace In July - Record Open Interest At Month End Steep Rise In Commodity Contracts - Overall Rise In Business For The First Seven Months

Trading on Euronext Paris derivatives markets eased in July after reaching its second highest level ever in June. A total of 26,038,924 contracts were traded in July. At the end of the month, open interest topped 50 million contracts, reaching a new record of 52.138 million. Trading in the first seven months totalled nearly 172 million contracts, showing a rise of 21.03% from 142 million in the same period of last year.
