The Chicago Board of Trade’s 30-Day Fed Funds Futures contract volume at 1,428,468 through June 1, 2001, has eclipsed the annual volume record of 1,426,209 traded in all of 2000. The Fed Funds contract is the benchmark instrument for hedging against movement in the Fed Funds rate.
