The market surged through the 1,000-point barrier to a record high of 1009.62 points. BIHL and Barclays carried the banner for the theme of record highs when both picked 10t to P10.50 and P4.70 respectively, albeit on light volume. TSE Announces Year-End Trading Hours

At its meeting this week, the Toronto Stock Exchange Board approved a 1 p.m. Eastern Time closing for Friday, December 31, 1999. TSE Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Adam Conyers said, "The TSE is showing prudent management practices. The change in hours allows securities firms to make an early start on processing year-end transactions." The TSE will reopen again for trading on Tuesday, January 4, 2000.

CME Members Approve Transfer Of Deutsche Mark Futures To GLOBEX®2

Members of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) voted overwhelmingly today to transfer trading in the Deutsche mark futures contract onto the exchange's GLOBEX2 electronic trading system during regular trading hours.
