Monetary Authority Of Singapore-Led Consortium Develops AI-Powered System To Support Sustainable Finance In Real Estate Sector

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) today announced a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that can assist banks to tap on Artificial Intelligence (AI) when issuing Sustainability-Linked Loans (SLLs) in the real estate sector. The MVP was developed by the Project NovA! consortium which has concluded the first phase of its work. The NovA! consortium also published a whitepaper which documents the methodology used in the MVP system.

1. As you are all aware, in 2022 we introduced rules mandating disclosure of board diversity plans and targets. We’ve been clear that we want this to result in greater diversity and renewal. As I have explained on other occasions, those rule changes should be read together with our recent hard-coding of the 9-year cap on director independence which means hundreds of companies will have to appoint new IDs in the coming 1-2 years. Both sets of rules are designed to work in tandem to encourage companies to renew and refresh their boards to ensure that they have the necessary “skills, talents, experience and diversity”.

Hello everyone and thank you for joining today.
I’ve been very glad to chair the 2023 Finance Ministers’ Meeting here in San Francisco over the past two days. And the United States has been proud to host APEC throughout this year. Hosting APEC is one of the many ways the Biden Administration is broadening and deepening our economic ties across Asia-Pacific economies. APEC economies are at the center of the global economy and our world’s economic future. The United States’ engagement with other APEC economies strengthens the U.S. economy, benefits American workers and firms, and advances American interests. It’s bringing significant benefits to the region as well. And cooperation across APEC economies is also key to tackling the challenges we all face, including the urgent threat of climate change.

TAIFEX reported a total volume of 29,797,226 contracts with an average daily volume (ADV) of 1,489,861 contracts in October 2023, an increase of 16.4% in monthly ADV compared to September. ADVs of TAIEX Options (TXO), Mini-TAIEX Futures (MTX) and TAIEX Futures (TX) grew 20.2% to 819,127 contracts, 17.3% to 275,306 contracts, and 19.1% to 157,384 contracts over the previous month, respectively. Additionally, the ADV in the night session also rose 34.3% over September and accounted for 33.1% of the total volume.
