HKEX Publishes Consultation Paper On Securities And Derivatives Trading Under Severe Weather Conditions

- HKEX sets out proposals for its securities and derivatives markets, including Stock Connect, derivatives holiday trading, and afterhours trading, to be open during severe weather conditions
- Trading, post-trade and listing arrangements to be substantially the same as those on regular trading days, with necessary adjustments made to accommodate closure of physical outlets
- Banks in Hong Kong to provide relevant online banking services, supporting market participants and market operations during severe weather conditions
- Eight-week consultation period ends on 26 January 2024

The Capital Market Authority (“CMA") and the General Commission for the Guardianship of Trust Funds for Minors and their Counterparts (“Wilayah") signed today a cooperation and coordination agreement today regarding the funds and securities in the capital market that fall under the jurisdiction of Wilayah authority as per Law of the General Commission for the Guardianship of Trust Funds for Minors and their Counterparts.

CLS Welcomes Tokio Marine Holdings Group Companies To CLSSettlement - Tokio Marine & Nichido Life Insurance And Nisshin Fire & Marine Insurance Indirectly Access CLSSettlement As Third-Party Participants

CLS, a financial market infrastructure group delivering settlement, processing and data solutions, today announced that Tokio Marine & Nichido Life Insurance and Nisshin Fire & Marine Insurance, two of Tokio Marine Holdings group companies, are indirectly accessing CLSSettlement as third-party participants. Since Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance joined CLSSettlement last year, the three group companies’ settlement processes are now aligned. While several insurance companies in Japan have independently adopted CLSSettlement to mitigate settlement risk, this is the first time that a group of several insurance companies have worked together to adopt CLSSettlement across the whole group.

UK Financial Conduct Authority: Statement On Communications In Relation To PRIIPs And UCITS

This statement relates to concerns raised about costs and charges disclosure in the PRIIPs Key Information Document (KID), the UCITS Key Investor Information Document (KIID) and MiFID II requirements. It sets out our interim measure, pending broader reform possible through legislative change, to provide for some disaggregation of costs and charges disclosure. These actions should give investment companies greater ability to explain their costs and charges to help consumers make better informed investment decisions.
