NASDAQ's Official Closing Price To Be Used In Annual Rebalancing Of Russell Indexes

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (NASDAQ®) today announced that the NASDAQ Official Closing Price will be used for the first time during the annual reconstitution of Frank Russell Company's 21 U.S. stock indexes. The NASDAQ Official Closing Price will be used to calculate the closing values of the Russell indexes when they undergo their annual reconstitution on June 30.

Nasdaq Liffe Markets, LLC (NQLX) announced today that it intends to add two new single stock futures beginning June 3, 2003. These additions will take the total number of NQLX products to 93, including futures on 87 individual stocks and 6 ETFs.

In May 2003, trading volume on FORTS (Futures & Options on the RTS) reached the record 3 662 thousand contracts or 21 542 million rubles in underlying value. In April these figures equalled 3 056 thousand contracts and 14 643 million rubles in underlying value. Total open interest as of May 30th, 2003, stood at 493 thousand contracts or 3 060 million rubles in underlying value, up 35% on 2 264 million rubles and 6.5% on 463 thousand contracts at the end of April.
EuroMTS To Launch Dollar Trading

EuroMTS today announced the introduction of a new segment for the trading of U.S. dollar denominated agency, supranational and European sovereign bonds. The dollar segment, to be launched in June, paves the way for the creation of a new market dedicated to global issuers.

With the migration of all former companies from the Neuer Markt and SMAX segments into the newly introduced exchange segments Prime Standard and General Standard, the new segmentation of the equity market at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FWB Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse), has been successfully completed. Deutsche Börse made the announcement on Tuesday. The last company listed in Neuer Markt will switch into Prime Standard on June 5 and the private-law segments Neuer Markt and SMAX will be closed
