For the week of February 24th – February 27th, 2004, total trading volume on FORTS (Futures & Options on the RTS) increased to 674 thousand contracts and 5 397 million rubles. Total open interest as of February 27th, 2004, reached 6 020 million rubles and 704 thousand contracts, a 4% increase in rubles and 3% increase in contracts.

February Volume At CBOE Increased 48%; Volume Gain Posted For Sixth Consecutive Month

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that February volume totaled 27,535,271 contracts traded, an increase of 48% over the February 2003 volume of 18,606,096 contracts. This was the sixth consecutive month that CBOE registered volume gains over year-ago levels.
