New York Mercantile Exchange And ICAP To Launch Daily Settlement Derivatives On Crude And Natural Gas Prices

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., (NYMEX) and ICAP (LSE: IAP) announced today that they will launch an electronic market in same–day over–the–counter (OTC) options on prompt–month settlement prices for crude oil and natural gas. Beginning July 18, 30–minute auctions will be held in the morning of each NYMEX trading day.

IPE Energy Futures Set Daily Volume Records Following Transition To Electronic Trading

IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) today announced new volume records in the benchmark IPE Brent crude oil and IPE Gas Oil futures contracts. On July 12, IPE Brent volume reached 185,144 contracts, exceeding the earlier record of 181,182 contracts which was set September 14, 2004. Open interest in the IPE Brent contract on July 12 stood at 360,028 contracts.

Investment Technology Group To Acquire Macgregor For Approximately $230 Million

("ITG") (NYSE: ITG), a leading provider of technology-based equity trading services and transaction research, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held Macgregor, a leading provider of trade order management technology for the global financial community. The all cash acquisition is valued at approximately $230 million and will be accretive in the first quarter of 2006.

The MICEX Group has announced the results of its work in the first half of 2005. From 1 January till 30 June 2005, the total volume of trade in all markets of the MICEX Group amounted to 350.7 billion US dollars, 1.6 times more than in the same period of 2004.
