Quarterly Rebalancing For S&P Global 100, S&P Europe 350, S&P Latin America 40, And S&P/ASX 50 Indices

Standard & Poor's, as part of the quarterly rebalancing, will change the shares outstanding for the S&P Global 100, S&P Europe 350, S&P Asia 50, S&P ASX 50, and the S&P Latin America 40 Indices. In addition, Investible Weight Factors for some constituents in the S&P/ASX 50 will also be updated effective after the close of business Friday, March 18, 2005. New shares outstanding and Investible Weight Factors can be downloaded in Excel format using the links provided below.

NYSE Issues 2004 Annual Report And Proxy Statement To Members For Annual Meeting And Election

The New York Stock Exchange today issued its 2004 annual report and mailed its proxy statement to members for the April 7 annual meeting and election. The annual report, which includes 2004 financial results, and the proxy statement are available on nyse.com. In addition to presenting several amendments to the Exchange’s Constitution and Certificate of Incorporation, the proxy statement includes the list of nominees for the NYSE’s Board of Directors.

NYSE Announces 2004 Financial Results

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today reported net income of $24.6 million for the year ended Dec. 31, 2004, compared to $49.6 million in 2003. Fourth-quarter net income was $9.3 million versus $15.7 million in the year-ago quarter and a net loss of $1.6 million for the third quarter of 2004.

Jefferson Pilot To Pay Over $500,000 In First VUL Market Timing Action - NASD Also Fines Affiliate $125,000 For E-Mail Retention Violations

NASD has fined Jefferson Pilot Variable Corporation, a Concord, NH broker-dealer, $325,000 for failing to have an adequate supervisory system in place to prevent market timing and excessive trading in the sub-accounts of its Ensemble series of variable universal life insurance policies (VULs). Jefferson Pilot is the exclusive distributor of Ensemble VULs, which are issued by a Jefferson Pilot insurance affiliate. In addition, the firm must pay $238,697 in restitution to the affected funds.
