GL TRADE Opens An Office In Taiwan To Provide Support To Securities Houses And FCMs

GL TRADE is opening an office in Taipei to support a base of 15+ customers and a growing business in Taiwan (turnover up by 284% in Q1 2005). The office will start in July 2005 in the financial district of Hsin Yi near Taipei 101.
FTSE UK Capped Index Series Launched

From today, FTSE Group, the global index provider will be calculating the FTSE 100 Capped 5% Index and the FTSE All-Share Capped 5% Index. The indices have been created in response to market demand.

Emissions Trading: European Commission Approves Last Allocation Plan Ending NAP Marathon

The European Commission today accepted the Greek plan allocating CO2 emission allowances to Greek companies for the 2005-2007 trading period. With today’s Decision, the Commission has completed its assessment of allocation plans for the first 2005-2007 phase of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. The scheme allows for greenhouse gas emissions from the power sector and from energy-intensive plants to be cut at least cost to the economy.

Directive On Markets In financial Instruments (“MiFID”): Commission Extends Transposition Deadline And Continues Consultation On Implementing Measures

The European Commission has proposed a new Directive extending by six months (until 30 October 2006) the deadline by which Member States must write into national law Directive 2004/39/EC on markets in financial instruments (“MiFID”), previously known as the Investment Services Directive.
