GIC Change For The Australian Gas Light Company In The S&P/ASX 50 Index

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/ASX 50 Index effective after the close of trading Thursday September 8th 2005: The Australian Gas Light Company (Australia, SEDOL: 6064969, GICS Code: 55102010) a member of the S&P/ASX 50 Index will be reclassified as 55103010 (Multi Utilities). The reclassification is due to our review of the companies operations.

On Monday, Deutsche Börse has decided on changes in its equity indices DAX®, MDAX®, SDAX® and TecDAX®. The changes will be effective on 19 September. There will be no changes to the composition of the DAX index.

Remisiers must transition to keep up with the times, said Bursa Malaysia Berhad’s (Bursa Malaysia) Chief Executive Officer, Yusli Mohamed Yusoff. Speaking at the Bursa Malaysia Remisier Conference today, Yusli touched on the remisier’s central role in encouraging retail investor participation in the capital market.
