Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes To S&P SmallCap 600 Index

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes to the S&P SmallCap 600 Index after the close of trading Thursday, July 15, 2004: S&P SmallCap 600 components Belden Inc. (NYSE:BWC) and Cable Design Technologies (NYSE:CDT) are merging in a transaction anticipated to close on or about that date, pending shareholder approval. The merged company, Belden CDT Inc. (NYSE:BDC), will replace Cable Design Technologies, while FindWhat.com (NASD:FWHT) will replace Belden, in the S&P SmallCap 6

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Thursday, July 8, 2004: The shareholders of Laniuk Industries Inc. (TSXVN:LII) have approved a plan of arrangement whereby the company will be converted into an income trust called TerraVest Income Fund (TSX:TI.UN). Laniuk Industries Inc. will be removed from the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index.

The Securities and Exchange Commission today initiated civil charges against Kenneth L. Lay, former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Enron Corp., for his role in a wide-ranging scheme to defraud by falsifying Enron's publicly reported financial results and making false and misleading public representations about Enron's business performance and financial condition.

FTSE: TSEC Taiwan 50 Index - Annual Review

FTSE Group, the global index provider, announces the results of the annual review of the TSEC Taiwan 50 Index that has been approved by the independent TSEC Taiwan Index Committee following their meeting today in Taipei. The Index is reviewed quarterly in January, April, October and July. In addition to the standard review process the liquidity screen is applied annually at the July review. All changes to the index will be applied after the close of business on Friday 16 July 2004.
