Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/CITIC 300 Index effective after the close of trading Thursday, February 3, 2005: Nanjing Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (China, SEDOL: 6286934, GICS: Consumer Discretionary, GICS Code: 15104050), a member of the S&P/CITIC 300 Index, free-float A shares will increase by 120,000,000 to 264,000,000. This change is due to the issue of new A shares. There will also be a change to the IWF.

International Securities Market Association And International Primary Market Association Announce Merger

The International Securities Market Association (ISMA) and the International Primary Market Association (IPMA) announced today that their Boards of Directors have reached agreement on the terms of a proposed merger between the two trade associations. The merger will directly benefit members by creating a single influential entity to represent their interests more effectively, while continuing the work of both associations in promoting good practice in the international capital markets.

Copenhagen Stock Exchange: Share Trading Continued At High Levels Into January

In the first month of the year, share trading amounted to DKK 50.1 billion. Thus, the booming equity market activity from 2004, when the value of average monthly trading totalled DKK 49.4 billion, continues. In January, the value of average daily trading was DKK 2.4 billion, which is well over DKK 100 million more than the value of average daily trading in 2004 as a whole, but a fall of 6 per cent if compared with January 2004.

Copenhagen Stock Exchange Announces DKKm 51.8 Profit For 2004

The year 2004 was characterised by bustling activity on the equity market. Trading increased by 42 per cent compared with 2003 and reached a new high at DKK 593 billion. The listed companies raised more than DKK 11 billion of risk capital, a 155 per cent rise on 2003. The growing activity on the equity market contributed significantly to the 10 per cent increase in revenues by the Copenhagen Stock Exchange compared with 2003 to DKK 251.3 million.
