Growth Of Electronic SGX Nikkei 225 Futures Trading And The Closure Of SGX Nikkei 225 And JBG Futures Pits

The electronic trading of SGX Nikkei (e-Nikkei) 225 futures has surpassed the one million mark for contracts done since November 2004. Electronic trading for SGX Nikkei 225 now represents about 80% of total SGX Nikkei trading volume.

Euronext Launches Amsterdam Small Cap Index (Ascx) ‘Natural Extension Of AEX And Amsterdam Midkap Index’

In the context of its plans to improve the visibility and encourage liquidity of small and mid cap stocks traded on its markets, Euronext will launch a new index for the most active small cap companies listed on Euronext Amsterdam : the Amsterdam Small Cap Index (AScX). This new index which will be launched on Wednesday 2 March 2005, meeting the demand of market participants.

Committee Of European Securities Regulators Publishes A Second Consultation Paper On The Remaining Aspects Of The First Set Of Mandates Regarding Possible Implementing Measures For The MiFID - Admission To Trading

On 17 June 2004 CESR published its first consultation paper on the first set of mandates under the MiFID (ref. CESR/04-261b). The public consultation closed on 17 September. CESR received 78 responses to the consultation. CESR is very gateful to respondents for their work. CESR is considering in detail all the responses to the consultation, and these responses will help to shape CESR´s final advice to the Commission. A feedback statement will be published together with the final approval of CES

CBOE Futures Exchange Sets New Single-Day Trading Record

The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) announced that today's trading volume at CFE set a new single-day record with reported volume of 2,132 futures contracts, eclipsing the previous high of 1,987 contracts traded on August 6, 2004. Today's volume was also the first time that CFE single-day volume surpassed 2,000 contracts traded in one session.
