NASD Fines Hantz Financial $675,000 For Fraud, Misrepresentations Related To Undisclosed Revenue Sharing Arrangements - Firm's Owner/CEO Censured, Fined And Suspended

NASD announced today that it has fined Michigan-based Hantz Financial Services, Inc. $675,000 for fraud and misrepresentations relating to undisclosed revenue sharing arrangements, as well as other violations. John Hantz, the firm's President, CEO, founder and primary owner, was censured and fined $25,000 for failing to supervise the firm's revenue sharing activities and suspended from acting in a supervisory capacity for 30 days.

Korea Exchange Will List Star Index Futures In October 2005

Korea Exchange (KRX) plans to list Star Index futures in October 2005, which will be the first futures product to be launched since the exchange was established in Jaunary this year as a result of the merger of three different exchanges.

The S&P Indices Versus Active Funds (SPIVA) Scorecard reports performance of actively managed Canadian mutual funds corrected for survivorship bias and shows equal- and asset-weighted peer averages. Actively managed Canadian Equity funds and US Equity funds have lagged indices in the first half of 2005.
