  • Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite

    Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Tuesday May 16, 2006: Oracle Energy Corp. (TSXVN:OCL), China Education Resources Inc. (TSXVN:CHN) and Chesapeake Gold Corp. (TSXVN:CKG) will be removed from the index. The three companies have been suspended from trading on the TSX Venture Exchange for five consecutive trading days and are being removed according to index methodology.

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged the former Chief Executive Officer of Seattle-based video game developer Infinium Labs, Inc., for his role in a fraudulent “junk fax” scheme to promote the company’s stock. The Commission alleges that Timothy M. Roberts, 36, of Longboat Key, Fla., authorized the fax promotion and reaped more than $400,000 by unloading his Infinium Labs shares in the ensuing run-up in trading volume.
