The European Commission today released the 2005 carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions data and compliance status of more than 9,400 installations covered by the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today that its Corn futures contracts achieved a new volume record on Friday, May 12. The Exchange’s Corn futures trading volume was 336,422 contracts, eclipsing the previous record of 331,455 set on March 31, 2006.
CBOT 2-Yr. Treasury Note Futures Open Interest Surpasses 600,000 Contracts

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today that on May 10, 2006, open interest in its Two-Year U.S. Treasury Note futures contract reached a new high for the tenth straight trading session, surpassing the 600,000 contract mark for the first time. Open interest expanded to 607,802 contracts, compared with the prior day’s record of 588,177 contracts.
