CBOT Metals Complex Volume Continues To Set Records; Surpasses 58,000 Contracts - Gold Futures And Options, Silver Futures Climb To New Records

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) announced today that volume in the Exchange’s 100 percent electronically traded Metals complex continued to expand, with more than 58,000 contracts changing hands for the first time ever. Total Metals complex volume reached 58,137 contracts on Wednesday, April 19, compared with the prior record of 43,466 set on April 11, 2006.

CBOT Financial Options Electronic Volume Reaches New High - Exchange-Wide Open Interest Surpasses 16 Million Contracts

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 871,216,934 shares as of the April 13, 2006 settlement date, an increase of 39,516,887 from the 831,700,047 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-March. The April figure represents trades through April 10, 2006.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Wednesday April 19, 2006: Following a share purchase agreement, Sovereign Chief Ventures Ltd. (TSXVN:SCV) will change its name to Saxon Oil Company Ltd. The company will trade under the new ticker symbol "SXN" and the new CUSIP number 805576 10 5. There is no consolidation of capital.
