London Metal Exchange: FOT Contract Study Commenced

The LME announced yesterday announced that Europe Economics, an independent economic consultancy based in London will conduct a study into the implications for the metal industry of a potential change in its standard contract terms for metal delivery from an “in warehouse” basis to a “free on truck” (FOT) basis.

Clearstream’s Business Figures For September 2006

In September Clearstream processed 1.75 million (September 2005: 1.72 million) international transactions. Of these transactions, 78 percent were Over the Counter (OTC) transactions and 22 percent were registered as stock exchange transactions. Domestic settlement transactions in Germany stood at 2.63 million compared to 2.82 million for the same month last year. Of these transactions 65 percent were stock exchange transactions and 35 percent OTC transactions.

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes to the S&P 500 and S&P SmallCap 600 indices: CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. (NYSE:CBG) will replace BellSouth Corp. (NYSE:BLS) in the S&P 500 index after the close of trading on Thursday, October 12. BellSouth is being acquired by S&P 500 and S&P 100 Index constituent AT&T Inc.
