Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes: The shareholders of ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX:ATY) have accepted the cash and share offer from Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD). ATI Technologies Inc. will be removed from the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX 60 and 60 Capped, the S&P/TSX Equity and Capped Equity and the S&P/TSX Capped Information Technology Indices. Penn West Energy Trust (TSX:PWT.UN) will replace ATI Technolog

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Tuesday, October 17, 2006: Scorpio Mining Corporation (TSXVN:SPM) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to the TSX to trade under the same ticker symbol.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that as of Noon today, seven CBOE memberships, or seats, have traded, and a new record high price was established at $1,500,000. Seats have been purchased today at the following prices: $1,425,000, $1,450,000, $1,500,000, $1,475,000, $1,500,000, $1,500,000, and $1,500,000.

The 46th General Assembly of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) has elected Massimo Capuano, President and CEO, Borsa Italiana, as incoming WFE Chairman for 2007- 2008, during its meeting in Sao Paulo. Mr. Capuano will assume his new position beginning in January 2007, taking over from Mr Taizo Nishimuro, President and CEO of Tokyo Stock Exchange, now completing his two-year term.
