CME Reports October 2006 Volume Averaged 5.3 Million Contracts Per Day, Up 18 Percent From Year-Ago Period - Electronic Volume During October Reached 74 Percent Of Total Exchange Volume

CME, the world's largest and most diverse financial exchange, today announced October volume averaged 5.3 million contracts per day, up 18 percent from October 2005. Total monthly volume in October 2006 was 116 million contracts. Average daily volume on the CME Globex electronic trading platform increased 17 percent from October 2005 to 3.9 million contracts per day, representing 74 percent of total exchange volume. ISE Reports Monthly Volume For October 2006 - Average Daily Volume Of 2.6 Million Contracts, Up 10.0% From October 2005

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE:ISE) today reported that average daily trading volume for equity and index options contracts for October 2006 increased 10.0% to 2.6 million contracts as compared to 2.3 million contracts during the same period in 2005. Total equity and index options volume for the month increased 15.3% to 56.3 million contracts from 48.8 million contracts in the same year-ago period.

London Stock Exchange: Larger Size Market Maker Scheme To Boost Quality Of Small Cap Trading

The London Stock Exchange today introduced a Larger Size Market Maker scheme designed to encourage liquidity at greater sizes and tighter spreads in both order and quote driven trading. The scheme, which builds on and formalises Market Maker incentives that currently exist on SETSmm, will apply to trading in all equity shares outside of the FTSE350 whether traded on the order book or via a market maker.

Strong First Month For OMX Nordic Exchange

October was the first month after launching OMX Nordic Exchange on October 2. Growth continued to be very strong and the total share trading reached an average daily turnover of EUR 4.6 billion, an increase of 17% from the previous month. The average number of trades per day increased by 19% to 135,000. Turnover velocity reached 141%, compared to 126% in September.
