Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Margin Change: FCM Customer Initial Margins

The following initial and maintenance margins apply to non-participant speculative accounts held with FCMs. Non-participants holding hedge based positions may apply for a hedge exemption under Rule 4E.08. The minimum margin level under the hedge exemption is the clearinghouse margin.

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE:ISE) today announced that it has filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York seeking to end the exclusive listing of certain index options. ISE has asked the District Court to issue a declaratory judgment holding that ISE does not need a license to list index options on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (Ticker: DJX) and S&P 500 Index (Ticker: SPX). CBOT Full-Sized Gold Futures Surpass 50,000 In Open Interest - Exchange Also Sets Records For Total Metals Complex Open Interest, Mini-Sized Gold Futures Open Interest

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) announced today that open interest in its Full-Sized Gold (100 oz.) futures contract reached a new high mark yesterday, surpassing 50,000 contracts for the first time. The new open interest record, 50,956 contracts, topped the previous record of 48,914 contracts set on October 30, 2006. Additionally on Wednesday, CBOT Full-sized Gold futures reached the second highest volume total on record, as 66,866 contracts were traded.
