Management Transactions: SWX Investigation Opened Against OC Oerlikon Corporation AG, Pfäffikon

The SWX Swiss Exchange has instituted a formal investigation against OC Oerlikon Corporation AG, Pfäffikon on the grounds of a possible breach of Art. 74a of the Listing Rules (disclosure of management transactions). Investigatory proceedings will continue for an indefinite period. The SWX Swiss Exchange will announce its findings, although no information will be provided while the proceedings are ongoing.

Dalian Commodity Exchange Corn Futures Surpass 1.2 Million Contracts In Open Interest

The Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) announced yesterday that open interest in its corn futures contract reached a new high mark, surpassing 1.2 million contracts for the first time. The new open interest record, 1,210,682 contracts, topped the previous record of 1,142,558 contracts set yesterday.

The Securities and Exchange Commission today filed fraud charges against the head of several San Francisco-based hedge funds, accusing him of misappropriating millions of dollars from investors nationwide, including senior citizens. According to the Commission, Edward Ehee, 43, of Oakland, defrauded investors in the Compass West Fund, Viper Founders Fund, and Viper Investments, diverting much of the money towards mortgage and car payments, vacations, and personal bank accounts.
