onsemi To Join The Nasdaq-100 Index Beginning June 20, 2023

Nasdaq (Nasdaq: NDAQ) today announced that onsemi (Nasdaq: ON) will become a component of the Nasdaq -100 Index® (Nasdaq: NDX), the Nasdaq -100 Equal Weighted Index (Nasdaq: NDXE), the Nasdaq -100 Tech Sector Index (Nasdaq: NDXT), and the Nasdaq -100 ESG Index (Nasdaq: NDXESG) prior to market open on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. onsemi will replace Rivian Automotive, Inc. (Nasdaq: RIVN) in the Nasdaq-100 Index® and the Nasdaq-100 Equal Weighted Index. Rivian Automotive, Inc. will also be removed from the Nasdaq -100 ESG Index (Nasdaq: NDXESG) and the Nasdaq -100 Ex-Tech Sector Index (Nasdaq: NDXX) prior to market open on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. onsemi will be removed from the Nasdaq Q-50 Index (Nasdaq: NXTQ), Nasdaq Next Generation 100 Index (Nasdaq: NGX), and Nasdaq Next Generation 100 ESG Index (Nasdaq: NGXESG) on the same date.

Nasdaq Announces End Of Month Open Short Interest Positions In Nasdaq Stocks As Of Settlement Date May 31, 2023

At the end of the settlement date of May 31, 2023, short interest in 3,333 Nasdaq Global Market^SM securities totaled 10,631,032,094 shares compared with 10,456,611,754 shares in 3,359 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of May 15, 2023. The end of May short interest represents 3.18 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 2.97 days for the prior reporting period.

US Financial Stability Oversight Council Meting

On Friday, June 16, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen will preside over a meeting of the Financial Stability Oversight Council (Council) at the Treasury Department.  The meeting will consist only of an executive session.  The preliminary agenda for the executive session includes an update on financial stability vulnerabilities; an update on developments in the commercial real estate market; and an update on developments in the banking sector.

Statement Of CFTC Division Of Enforcement Director Ian McGinley On The Ooki DAO Litigation Victory

Today, CFTC Division of Enforcement Director Ian McGinley released the following statement on the CFTC’s sweeping victory in the Ooki DAO litigation. Last night, U.S. District Judge William H. Orrick entered a default judgement order that requires the defendant Ooki DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization that the CFTC charged with operating an illegal trading platform and unlawfully acting as a futures commission merchant (FCM), to pay a civil monetary penalty of $643,542; orders permanent trading and registration bans; and orders the Ooki DAO, as well as any third party providing web-hosting or domain-name registration services to shut down the Ooki DAO’s website and remove its content from the Internet.  Critically, in a precedent-setting decision, the court held that the Ooki DAO is a “person” under the Commodity Exchange Act and thus can be held liable for violations of the law.  The court then held that the Ooki DAO did, in fact, violate the law as charged.
