John Mccarthy, Associate Director Of OCIE, To Leave Securities And Exchange Commission

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that John McCarthy, Associate Director in the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE), will leave the Commission later this month. Mr. McCarthy is joining a privately-held proprietary trading firm with offices in New York, London and Chicago.

Deutsche Börse is taking the introduction of the new Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) as an opportunity to enhance its service portfolio: the company plans to introduce a range of new services for the cash market and with respect to market data. Thai Listed Companies Record THB 370 Billion Profit In 9M/2006

Listed companies on The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) posted profits of THB 371 billion (approx. USD 10.16 billion) for 9M/2006. The Industrials Industry Group enjoyed the highest profit growth of 42%, followed by 11% from the Resources Group and 9% from the Consumer Products Group, with the top five most profitable firms being PTT, SCC, PTTEP, TOP, and BBL. Their combined profits exceeded THB 150 billion.
