Singapore Commodity Exchange Sets New Open Interest Record In Ribbed Smoked Sheet 3 (RSS3) Contract

SICOM is pleased to announce that it has achieved a new open interest record for its RSS3 rubber futures contract. Open interest yesterday set a new record of 37,520 tonnes. The previous record was 37,220 tonnes set on 20 June 2007. Open interest is the total number of contracts that have not yet been offset.

The American Stock Exchange® (Amex®) today announced two final disciplinary actions for violations of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Regulation SHO short sale rules in connection with trading activity in threshold securities, which occurred on various options and equity exchanges. In the second quarter of 2007 Deutsche Börse delivered its most successful quarter ever. In terms of earnings, the company by far outstripped both the equivalent previous year period and Q1/2007, its most successful quarter to date. In the second quarter this year, sales revenue was up by 10 percent on the same period in 2006, rising to €542.5 million (Q2/2006: €491.1 million); a further €62.0 million was recorded in net interest income from banking business.
