Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Launches The Futures Trading Apprenticeship Programme To Nurture Next-Generation Derivatives Traders

Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia Derivatives” or “the Exchange”) has launched the Futures Trading Apprenticeship Programme (“FTAP”), an immersive educational initiative designed to nurture and equip aspiring traders to master foundational skills needed to succeed as full-time derivatives traders.

Good afternoon and thank you to the North American Securities Administrators Association (“NASAA”) for inviting me to be a part of this year’s meeting.[1] Returning to San Diego brings back a lot of memories. NASAA held its Fall Meeting in San Diego in September 2006, which was the final NASAA event that I attended as a California state securities regulator before joining the SEC the following month. The highlights of that 2006 event were remarks from future SEC chair and then-NASD chair Mary Schapiro, as well as from two legendary state securities regulators, outgoing NASAA president Patty Struck of Wisconsin and incoming NASAA president Joseph Borg of Alabama. So Andrew [Hartnett of Iowa, NASAA president] and Claire [McHenry of Nebraska, NASAA president-elect], you are both part of that distinguished group of NASAA leaders.

Qatar Stock Exchange And MSCI Host ‘Explainer’ Seminar For ESG Ratings

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) and MSCI hosted a seminar, primarily aimed at listed companies, to assist in the understanding of the ratings methodology underlying the MSCI QSE 20 ESG Index.  The joint index, launched in November 2021, is designed to identify the top 20 securities within the MSCI Qatar IMI Index that demonstrate the best Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) profile.

International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva made the following statement today at the G20 Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi, India:

“I would like to congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his successful leadership of the G20. Leaders wholeheartedly embraced the theme of India’s Presidency of "One Earth, One Family, One Future” and conveyed a strong consensus for joint action to address global challenges in the New Delhi Declaration . I am also very pleased that the G20 welcomed the African Union as a permanent member."

Non-Jordanian Ownership In Companies Listed On The Amman Stock Exchange Reached 47.4%, Of Which 36.2% For Institutional Investors

Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) revealed that the value of shares bought by non-Jordanian investors at the ASE in August 2023 was JD11.8 million, representing 10.2% of the overall trading value, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JD25.5 million.
