Oppenheimer & Co. To Pay $4.5 Million To Settle FINRA Market Timing Charges - Improper Trades Made On Behalf Of Hedge Fund Client - Over 60 Mutual Fund Companies To Receive Restitution

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) announced today that Oppenheimer & Co. will pay a fine of $250,000 for supervisory and other failures in connection with improper market timing of mutual fund shares from January through September 2003. The firm will also pay $4.25 million in restitution to more than 60 mutual fund companies.
Swiss Structured Products Fair 2008 In Zurich And Geneva

On 23 and 24 October 2008, the second Swiss structured products fair will be held at Kongresshaus Zürich. It will be staged by Scoach Switzerland Ltd and the Swiss Structured Products Association (SSPA). The organisers have also decided to hold the first Salon Romand de la Finance in Geneva on 29 and 30 October 2008 in conjunction with FONDS’, Switzerland’s biggest financial fair.

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) today announced that it has agreed to offer $425 million aggregate principal amount of 2.50% convertible senior notes due 2013. NASDAQ has also granted an option to the initial purchasers to purchase up to an additional $50 million in principal amount of notes to cover over-allotments. Yuanta Becomes World's First Taiwanese Issuer To Launch Structured Warrants On A Foreign Exchange – SGX

Taiwan-based Yuanta Securities Co. Ltd. and Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) announced today that Yuanta will launch its first warrants on Taiwanese underlying stocks outside Taiwan on SGX on Monday, 25 February 2008. This marks the first time a Taiwanese issuer is venturing abroad after the Taiwan Securities and Futures Bureau granted approval on 28 December 2007 for Taiwanese issuers to issue warrants on 26 exchanges worldwide.
